Tucson Rattlers Girls 16u Win AAU West Coast Nationals

Las Vegas, NV (July, 2008). The summer hoops circuit isn't just for the boys.  The Tucson Rattlers, a team of local girls basketball players from East Side schools, won the AAU West Coast National Championship tournament in Las Vegas in the High School JV division (16 and under).  The Rattlers went 5-0 in the event, including a 60-59 championship game win over the Arizona Venom.  In the Championship game Darian Saunders (Fr., Palo Verde) had 18 points 10 boards and 6 blocks, Alyssa Deal (So., Cienega) had 10 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, Erin Peterson (So., Catalina Foothills) had 8 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, and Shakayla McEaddy (So., Catalina Foothills) and Alyssa Roche (So., Cienega) each had 8 points and 3 boards.
