Tucson Youth Basketball Leagues

Sporting Chance currently is not operating any basketball leagues itself; however, we are familiar with many of the league options available for youngsters in the area.

Below is contact information and brief descriptions of some of the leagues which are offered in the area. The league administrators have provided this information to us. It is recommended that you contact the leagues directly for more complete and updated information.

Attention League Administrators: If information on your league is not listed, or needs to be updated, please contact us.

Developmental/Recreational Leagues. These leagues are generally geared toward the "recreational" player, including those players looking to develop skills. Teams are usually put together through a "draft" or similar selection process, with parents as volunteer coaches.

Tucson Jewish Community Center Youth Leagues. Runs leagues year-round for boys & girls ages 5-15. Games are Sunday afternoon. Phone: 299-3000 for league schedule and information.

National Youth Sports - NYS Tucson. Runs various recreational leagues at various sites throughout Tucson. For information and registration, visit www.nysonline.org or call  520-622-1540.

YMCA. The YMCA runs various development leagues through its Centers located throughout Tucson. Call the YMCA Center in your neighborhood or call Ott YMCA at 520-885-2317. The YMCA runs three seasons; WInter (Jan-March), Summer (June-Aug) and Fall (Sept - Nov) for grades 1-9. Visit www.tucsonymca.org for more information.

Tucson Parks and Recreation. Runs Fall, Winter and Spring Sessions for youth ages 9-12 at El Pueblo, Randolph and Udall Centers. Call City Sports Office at 520-791-4870.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson. Run various leagues through their five clubhouses in and around Tucson. For the league information, call John McDowell at (520) 573-3533 or email him at jmcdowell@bgctucson.org.

Oro Valley Hoops. Oro Valley Parks and Recreation runs leagues throughout the year for kids boys and girls from Kindergarten throught 6th grade. Call 520-229-5050 or visit Oro Valley Hoops for information.  

ASUA Basketball (U of A). The University of Arizona Associated Students (student government) runs a free youth basketball league for boys and girls 8-13 over consecutive weekends in February. Registration is in early January. Call 621-2782 or email asualeague@gmail.com.


Competitive Leagues. These leagues are geared toward the more skillful players and teams seeking competitive play against teams from throughout the City. Participation is by team - no individual sign-ups taken.


YMCA City-Wide Basketball League. Runs Winter (January - March) and Spring (April--June) League play followed by tournament. Games on Saturdays. Divisions are 10u, 12u and 14u. Call Lohse YMCA (623-5200) for information.
