Tucson Holiday Tip-Off

In December, 1993, Sporting Chance created and hosted the very first competitive youth basketball tournament in Tucson. Since then, the annual Tucson Holiday Tip-Off has become a Southern Arizona tradition, as many youth club teams use it to "tip-off" their club season.

The Tip-Off utilizes an efficient two-day format that guarantees four games in two days, so families do not have to take much time away from the busy holiday season. Because high school teams are in season, the Tip-Off hosts teams from 10u/ 4th grade through 14u/8th grade.

Due to the compact format, the number of teams we can accept is limited, so this tournament sells-out every year. Make sure you are on our mailing list so you do not miss your chance to register. Email us at director@sportingchance.org to get on the mailing list.

Below are the QUICK FACTS for our 2008 Holiday Tip-Off. (Note: for future planning, the Holday Tip-Off is generally held one or two weekends before Christmas.)

Dates: Saturday-Sunday December 20-21 , 2008 
Where: University of Arizona, other sites as needed.
Divisions: Boys (open): 9u/3rd - 14u/8th. Girls: 14u, 12u (if demand). 
Format: 4-game minimum
Cost: $295/team (support available for Tucson area teams)
